He was trying to uh facilitate efficiency within the construct of the board.

And it may have been his delivery that didn't go right.

I don't know, but but it certainly raises the the question.

Well I think I I I uh there the key the number one takeaway is be uh always from this presentation is make sure everybody gets the role as of the board chair and make sure that that that's understood.

But I think in this situation there there the facts paint a uh a a grey picture, but it's a useful great picture.

In my experience, it would be atypical.

atypical for the independent chair to pursue a personal agenda, by that mean his own business strategy agenda, beyond those related to the process of governance and the stuff that's usually associated with the role of of the presiding board officer.

And I what I mean is it would be

unusual for the chair to pursue or assume

A dominant leadership role in setting the operational goals for the company.

or seeking to establish the company's strategic direction alone.

That would be a little weird.

And it might also be pushing the line a bit for the chair to regularly engage in management.

below the senior man executive team level or with employees.

And by that, because I've seen this, uh, where the chair, in good faith, thinking this is part of his duties, you know, makes a round, makes the rounds of uh uh all the floors, meets with employees, senior, junior management, medical staff members, researchers, whatever, glad handing on a PR tour because he thinks that's what they need to see, because he thinks that's transforming

transparency.

And that's a n pretty nifty way to send the s most CEOs into orbit I've found.

But it's not overreach, Rob, I think to pursue for the chair to pursue a big picture role in setting

The strategic direction.

Uh like the chair, you know, we've got to start cutting costs.
