You know, what do you do with the director whose constituency is no longer or his competency is no longer uh important?

Um and the you know, the tendency, at least I've seen.

uh that when you stri adhere strictly to competency based board members

The I want to get my directions right.

Horizontal is this way, vertical is that way as I recall.

It's been a long time since I had high school science.

Yeah, there you go.

Uh yeah.

Uh an extra benefit.

But horizontal communication amongst competency based directors seems to be harder.

Um and part of that perhaps is because they've sometimes will view themselves I serve one purpose, one purpose only, and I'm not being serving on the board to look at the big picture.

Um so I I think now is a good time because of that just to kick the tires and on competency based boards and ask whether

An emphasis on narrow levels of expertise.

and more on factors such as general industry expertise, uh governance experience, CEO experience, human capital familiarity, and I think especially uh broad strategic experience.

Is that a better approach in the current environment?

Now, you know, we don't define per se strategic experience, but you kind of know it when you see it.

Uh observation, foresight, inquisitiveness, incisiveness, stuff like that.

But the bottom line question to your uh answer to your question, Rob, is

Given if you believe what we're suggesting today, the shift to a new generation of governance issues, might not be a bad time just to say, hey, does this beautiful competency-based model still work for us?
