I think the problem happens when guys don't realize that
how short the career is and the fact that you you go through a catastrophic, you know, uh job loss or loss of income.
And at the same time, you mix that catastrophic loss of income with um
the fact that the profession you've been crafting yourself to to do your whole life
um you can no longer do for money after two and a half years.
And that's and that's a really interesting point that I that I um I touched on because if you told me before I was going to med school as a as a doctor
that I could only practice uh medicine for two and a half years and then my skills would all be useless and outdated.
And that is what the reality is of my profession as a doctor.
you know, I would rethink ad school.
So I think that when you really put it into a real perspective, you know, sports is a career that you're gonna do for a few years and you'll never be able to make money doing what you practice doing your whole life.
So you have to come into it thinking about what are my next steps.
I think it's a um it's it's a reality check.
It's a huge reality check, you know, realizing that
Um, you know, everybody, you know, you have a certain status and and and you have a certain following.
um, based on, you know, something that you, you know, did and excel and excelled at.
And when you lose your ability to do that, the following goes along with it.
It's the kind of the nature of beast.
I think it's hard for guys to
to really get a grasp of until it happens.
Until you're done playing your last football game.
