It's not focusing on the whole big, scary task.
It's focusing on the very small next step.
And it can really be as small as you want it to be.
Another strategy that I really like to use is timers.
I'm a big timer girl.
I don't know about yourself, but if I'm struggling to get myself to do something, I will yell at my Google Home.
I won't actually say what I yell.
I don't want to set off people's Google Home.
But
I'll ask it to set up a 10 minute timer and I'll commit myself to just 10 minutes of that particular task.
And what I usually tell myself is, look, if after 10 minutes, you really don't feel like it, you just want to bow out, you can.
But more often than not, I would say 90% of the time, unless you are genuinely low in energy, you will keep on going because you've got that momentum built up.
And really it is all about that starting point.
It's getting yourself to start.
