But having fun with skin care and face exercises and fashion and all those things, that's only the beginning.
I want us to actually enjoy life.
that we're working so hard to make beautiful.
And sometimes those are the things that are under the surface and they're really difficult to see and access.
So there is an image I kept coming back to as I was thinking about forgiveness, though, when I was preparing for this message.
You know, scripture talks about God as a potter and us as the clay, right?
And I had this moment just this past weekend at an art show that made that picture come alive for me because I was sitting next to a clay artist, actually two, one across the room and one next to us at this art show.
And at one point in time, somebody broke a piece that looked like it could have been a valuable piece inside their booth.
And I remember watching the artist because I thought, oh, no, this is not good.
But their response was almost like a shrug.
Like it happens.
I can fix it.
And something about that stuck with me because the artist knew his material.
The artist knew it was delicate.
He knew that it could break.
And he also knew what to do when it does.
And so I thought, oh man, what a picture that is of God in our lives, right?
He knows how delicate we are.
He knows the places where life has hit us hard and where we might have broken pieces from words someone said and things that made us crack.
And he's not standing over those broken pieces like, oh, well, now I can't do anything with this.
