There's no value here anymore.
No, he is the potter.
He knows how to repair us.
He knows how to strengthen us.
And he knows how to take something we thought had lost its value and create something beautiful from it.
And I'm actually walking through this season of forgiveness.
I had to do a lot of it while writing my book, Crowned in Beauty.
And it made me go back to look at some things about things people had said about me and things that were said even directly to me.
And some of those words for sure hurt and have stuck with me and have even defined how I've lived my life.
But some of them, sadly, they stick around longer than you want them to.
And I had to look at those experiences.
And surprisingly, when you read my book, you'll see, but towards the end of the book, I came to a place of forgiveness where I almost wanted to go back and hug and kiss those people, right?
And listen, I'm not saying I suddenly liked what they did.
In fact, I hated the lesson, but I love the outcome because when I look at who I am today, I can't honestly say that I would be this woman without some of those moments.
And so those people had a major part in who I am today, right?
Their criticism forced me to find my own voice.
Their judgments made me ask harder questions about what I actually believed in and made me lean in more heavily into the Lord and what he said about me.
He can use those things to strengthen us, right?
They hurt me and became the very thing that he made more beautiful later.
And so it reminded me of something that Jonathan does with his drums.
