This was a true love affair with a French actor named Jean Gabin.

Jean Gabin is, I think, the greatest French actor.
And so she was with Gabin for about three or four years.
And she would arrange to meet Gabin when she was in France or she'd be in Britain, but then she'd be in France at some of the time as the Allies were winning the war.

So, I mean, you know, Hitler was only in there for about a year and a half or something by the time when she became a citizen.
that she didn't go over well in Nazi Germany for that reason, because they were really turning their propaganda guns on her early in Germany, even as early as 33.
