The call came at 5 o'clock in the evening, early evening, and throughout the night, and it was now about 12 o'clock in the evening, my sister was so in complete devastation, she took herself out of the room.
My sister was very scared of the dark, but she took herself out of the room and she walked through Sawbridges to the churchyard.
It was pretty dark in the churchyard at night and no lighting.
And somehow...
maybe by fate, whatever it was, something led her to a bench.
And she sat on a bench and she sat there, her thoughts running wild, totally devastated.
But even in the midst of the thoughts and the devastation,
She was thinking, I'm scared of the dark.
What am I doing here?
This bench needs a light.
It needs a light.
It needs a light to show people the way.
And ultimately, you know, when I look back on Legend of the Bench, that was when Legend of the Bench was born.
That was when the idea of the bench lit up for the night.
It was when it was born.
And while we were addressing the problems of the devastation, the funeral, et cetera, nothing was discussed.
Nobody could even talk.
We were all in complete and utter shock.
But as time passed, my sister died.
And something that I sort of feel such incredible admiration for her because of this was that even in her darkest, deepest sadness and devastation, she came up with this idea.
