And all of a sudden, other players are like, Oh, that yeah, I should do that.
I want to be like that.
So it really does require the buy-in of the people on the field living it.
And so when you have someone like Mattingley saying that, and especially a guy who on his roster has the two biggest differences in players you could imagine, literally Luisa Rise, but also Kyle Schwarber, you know?
He's out there saying, This is what we need to do.
It's fun to see.
Um, this is maybe an unpopular opinion, but I feel like John Schneider has been maybe unfairly maligned in a lot of ways.
Like I don't know that there's gonna be a lot of teams that would succeed when your your supposedly best hitter and Vlad Guerrer Jr.
has a season as wretched as he's had.
And we've obviously dived into that a lot.
I don't know that there's any manager who would have like hit the button that said, Hey, hit homers.
You know, like that's that's really hard to overcome.
They've had a ton of injuries.
And to some extent, and this part is totally understandable, if you go to game seven of the World Series, and not just go to game seven, but come within like literal inches of winning it, winning the World Series, you're gonna almost certainly have a lesser season the next year, right?
Like Ernie Clement was never gonna keep hitting like Ted Williams as he did for all of October last year.
You know, some of the pitchers you're gonna look at and say, okay, we're not gonna get the same kind of performance.
obviously there's been disappointments, right?
But I I also kind of look back at at the winter, like the moves they made.
And it's like, okay, well, Dylan Sees, awesome, great move.
