I think that's absolutely right.
And the fact that this is happening so quickly, an apology, John, I'm moving because I'm getting swarmed by mosquitoes here in Trump's Washington.
So they may have deployed the National Guard on the streets, but they're clearly not cracking down on mosquitoes.
It was an absolute swarm.
But look, in all seriousness.
This is, as we're watching this event unfold live today, you know, you compare it to Parkland.
You compare it to what happened in Connecticut.
You compare it to these other mass shootings.
This is the fastest, in my memory, something like this has so crassly and so quickly been used to justify an unjustifiable political position.
That's what's really scaring me, is we're not even at the place anymore where
where we can take these sorts of attacks seriously, where we can actually express not just solidarity with the victims and their families, but talk about how to make our communities safer.
We can't even have that conversation.
We didn't have 10 minutes to have that conversation this time.
And I'll say, and I was saying this to you while you and I were in the green room,
I watched that video of that boy being interviewed who was ducking and trying to hide as this attack took place.
That's probably the most gut wrenching thing I have seen in months.
And and all of us, by not holding people accountable who are trying to shift this into a let's put the Trump, the dictator, you know, hat on to solve this problem.
All of us are doing that family a disservice.
If we shut that shut down that kind of discourse, because that's not what this is about.
This is not about, man, we need to empower Donald Trump to go destroy the woke mob.
