Um, also I just do want to mention, I participated in a panel that Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz had on affordable housing.

And we had a cross-section of people dealing with affordable housing and homeless.

And she really was looking for us to let her know what the needs were here that are being disrupted by the federal government.

So she was looking at that and how to correct a couple of things that have happened with HUD.

We also had, by the way, the director of the Coast to Coast Legal Aid, excuse me, the director of Coast to Coast Legal Aid was there and discussed part of the wonderful program.

that he has regarding eviction prevention.

And I know that she went back, she let me know she's going back with very valuable information and important suggestions to bring back to DC to enable her to work on behalf of Broward.

Also, I just want to mention, I also was there for the P3 challenge.

Um, and, uh, and I have to tell you, well, I mean, we, we can't say enough about our own staff, Dr. Harado and Monica Ponyon and, and the whole staff, the amazing job that they did in conjunction with Broward County public schools.

But the highlight for me from the recipients was this little boy.

It was a third grade student.

I, it, I, I still can see him.

He's just like, just like kind of a.

little short, you know, and he's standing there and everyone else is very, all the, it goes from age range all the way up to high school.

And he's standing there and he's got this biggest smile on his face.

And he got presented with, I presented him with a hundred dollar mock check.

And

uh, you know, all the others, all the other, it was bigger than he was, I swear.

And he was, and these kids, all of them, I mean, but they were standing there so stoically and here he is, has got so much energy.

He was a student, um, uh, at central park elementary, and he's a dedicated Everglades student ambassador already who exemplifies outstanding environmental leadership.
