Talking of those three things, and you talked about measurement or review of service providers, independence of thinking and ethical behavior is not something that we can measure in CPD hours, right?
It's something that's a little bit more obtuse.
And in reviewing the appointment or the, let's call it the function or the performance of a board of trustees, we obviously every year review ourselves.
Right.
And we do an annual review and yourself with the principal officer and you kind of check out and do a quick check in whether the trustees are applying their minds independently, regardless of who appointed them.
How do you how do you surface or how do you evidence through your processes that independence on a board is more than just a compliance box to be ticked?
Right.
But rather, it is something that your trustees are living by.
You have definitely answered that question, plus the number of other questions, because I'm kind of building a profile of, in my mind, as you're speaking, a picture or a profile of a successful or a competent independent trustee.
And you use words, ethical,
courageous you know you must be able to articulate yourself um well you must be able to challenge you know the ability to link the dots and articulate yourself in a non-threatening way but still you know interrogating the proposition um or the advice that is put in front of you and so this as you're speaking this kind of
picture emerges and it's not something that is specific to an independent trustee.
It is in fact a picture that applies to all trustees.
And so it leads me in my thinking to this point of, are we heading to a future where all trustees are independent professional trustees?
You know, I concur.
And I have thought about this a lot around trustees and not because I believe they're incapable or not able to reach the standard or be ethical.
I just think oftentimes trustees have other jobs.
