Real internal kind of turmoil, some of the things that I was doing, you know, even when I started driving, some of the things that I was doing when I was driving, I got a motorbike real young, just, like, doing shit that I'm just, like, far out.
Like, I was trying to get hurt.
Like, it wasn't good.
But in saying that, I just... It wasn't out of control.
Like...
You know, I was never subject to like abuse or like anything like that.
So I'm like real, like disclaimer, like it wasn't that bad.
It was like internally it was bad, but it wasn't like I was getting a hard time from anyone or that sort of thing.
I was just dealing with what I was dealing with.
And like I say, the community of people that I had around, like my good friends, my friends' parents, a couple of key teachers, you know, there was Mr Edwards and Mrs Long at Intermediate who I got them back to back in those 11 and 12 years who...
I don't know, just, again, one of those knife edges where I'm like, man, I was so lucky to have those people at that time.
I started my apprenticeship at sort of 16.
I got it done inside like two and a half years.
Like I was just hustling again.
What's a normal time frame?
Four years is a normal kind of apprenticeship.
especially for young guys like you see adults do it quickly with transferable skills and stuff but I just went hard like and I had Kelly like Kelly was just to this day he's the best carpenter I've ever met um I don't know how I was lucky enough to get put on a site with him but I was and and he taught me everything I know about building um and so I became qualified at sort of 19 and um
But this is when the ego really started running rampant, you know, like I was just run by, you know, even getting qualified in that time was like, yeah, I'm the quickest, my quality's good, I can do this.
And there's been steps like that in my whole career actually now, even today where, you know, it's funny in our game, like,
The apprentice, you know, your apprenticeship is about learning, right?
