He could have picked anyone there.
And there was a real pragmatic approach to that.

We all say, oh, why didn't you give it to Fernando or what, you know.
but the pit I know he also worked with Valtteri Bottas as well you know which I think you alluded to the fact that some of them literally do manage drivers but that quite a lot of them yeah exactly but but that pick was actually really important because Mercedes went carried on dominating for the next few years but had you got that wrong if you'd put another if you create another Hamilton Rosberg situation especially as Ferrari and 17 and 18 were much stronger it could have been quite problematic for them winning another championship so I think that's again it speaks to how long he's been doing it but I think Wolf has to probably be number one for that reason yeah
Fred Vasseur strikes me as that no BS kind of guy, doesn't he?
I think they know where they stand with him.
I imagine you go into a meeting with Fred Vasseur and you leave and you know exactly where your standing is with him.
And I think that whenever he's worked with any driver, you get that impression.
And you get the sense of him and it speaks to what we were saying about him in the media as well.
I think he finds a lot of the ecosystem around Formula One quite silly.
