So a lot of losses.

And then when the market goes bad as well, there's a lot of losses there as well.

And those losses can be used strategically, but that might be a bit more – that might be a different discussion.

So I think another aspect to keep in mind with that, and a lot of people don't get this one, is there's two big things.

The first one is the CGT discount.

Now there's a lot of talk about that in the news, but it's still a thing as of right now.

And so that means if you hold stocks for longer than 12 months, you get a 50% CGT discount, which is a big deal when investing because that can have a huge impact on how much tax you pay, obviously.

We'll see if that law changes or not, but as of now, it's still a thing.

The other one, and a lot of people don't understand this, and this particularly impacts you if you're dollar cost averaging.

This issue gets you.

And it's the different ways you calculate a capital gain.

So in Navex, we call them CGT strategies.

Now, if you've been buying shares every month for the last three years, effectively you have 36 different parcels of that same stock.

So if we use like an ETF as an example, you've got 36 different parcels all with their own date or with their own price or with their own brokerage fee.

And some of those will qualify for the 50% discount and some of them won't.
