Because roll on the clock then to New Year's night of 2000 and when the clock was turning to 2016.

We were sitting at home, the two of ourselves, watching the ringing in of the new year.

And we were sitting there having a drink.

About half past twelve, anyway, I was on my phone, maybe quarter to one.

And Nate was flicking through channels.

And he loved Abba.

I mean, he was actually, he'd go up in the middle of a wedding looking for Abba.

So anyway.

Appa came on the television and they were playing that song, you know, I love you, I do, I do, I do, I do.

And I saw him get up and I said, see, I'm going out for more drink now.

And the next thing, totally not Ned, he asked me to dance.

And we danced in front of the fire.

And the only time we ever had done that was 30 odd years earlier when the night we brought our youngest home.

And the song was going on and he just whispered into my ear, you're loved for the rest of your life.

It was so strange that I never had questioned why he said that that nicely.

We had been at a funeral.

He went to someone's funeral and I waited in the car.

And on our way home, we'd always go for a drink.

I used to joke, actually, I say, I look up the death notices to see, can I get a night out?

Because he changes gullows for funeral.
