In terms of the fuel costs specifically, you could potentially, if you bought an equivalent sized EV to a Golf and you charge that home and you have a good night rate for charging, you could cut that down to about $200 or $300 a year.
OK, settle in and get comfy.
This gets complicated.
There are two really simple forms of finance.
One of which is you go to your bank or your credit union and you get out a personal loan for a car and you walk into the dealership and you pay cash.
That's a really good way of doing it.
And I'll explain more why in a minute.
That is also the simplest way of doing it.
And it's the way that probably, you know, certainly most of our parents would have bought a car because car dealership finance wasn't so much of a thing, say, up to the mid to late 90s.
Then we get into the realms of exactly that, car dealership finance.
Traditionally, that would have been higher purchase.
You pay a deposit.
The rest of the value of the car is divided up into monthly payments over three or four years, maybe five in some cases.
You pay every month.
When you make your last payment, the car is yours.
You own it outright completely.
Those are pretty straightforward.
But then we get into PCP, personal contract purchase.
And this is where it starts to get really complicated.
This was developed by Ford back in the 1990s.
