And whether he has really good stuff or his B stuff, I think he does, for the most part, a really good job of executing and just keeping his team in the game as long as he can, as best he can.

and that's a big reason why the Rays are successful.

You're not going to see the incredible stuff that, for instance, on the other side, I mean, Dylan Cease was the starter in that All-Star game for a reason, and he's tough to hit no matter who's facing him.

He doesn't have the elite swing in this stuff that Cease has, but he gets the most out of himself, and he knows who he is.

I think that's really important, whether you're a pitcher or a hitter, and it's made him very successful.

I mean, I try not to make much.

I think, like, for instance, Yanni Diaz went one for 16 in Boston.

Should you make much of that, or is every hitter going to have a one for 16 or a one for 20?

They will.

Every starting pitcher is probably going to have a couple of bad starts.

And because they happen in succession, you start to see, okay, is this a trend?

You know, it's almost like you're trying to solve a murder mystery in episode three of 10.

And you kind of have to see a little more.

You know, he's had a lot of extra rest between starts.

He is a guy who's had three Tommy John either surgeries or major elbow procedures.

Was there a little fatigue?

And does that all-star break and basically throwing two-thirds of an inning help him?

We'll see.

I still think the stuff was very good.
