So first, can you explain the difference for me between...
the designation DBA versus just DB, the pressure versus decibels?
So especially for the public, if you have 65 DBA versus 65 DB, how might you experience that differently?
I think so, yeah.
Now you measured, for example, a crow's nest, but I understand you measured that from street level, correct?
Correct.
Okay.
Now I know there are people sitting in the audience who are in that neighborhood, but their residents, because of the nature of the way the streets rise, are actually more on level with the roof itself as opposed to on the street level.
How are they going to experience the noise, even though at a greater distance, but with a more direct line to the sound?
Several weeks ago I had a conversation with an individual who has intimate knowledge with music venues including Wolf Trap and some in Austin.
This individual maintains, especially in Austin, which some of us might consider the live music capital of the country, they have a consistent 65 dB or decibels, I don't know if it's dB or decibels, throughout the city.
And I think arguably you could say they're pretty successful at what they do.
It strikes me that in trying to stand this up, that again, trying to create a different
level for each individual business might overly complicate our initial discussion, not to mention making LPD's job a little bit more difficult in that now they're going to have to have a list of various businesses and say, oh, this business is allowed this, but this business is not.
So I guess my question to you is, how do they manage to make it work in Austin at a consistent level versus us trying to be maybe a little bit more complicated in the town of Leesburg?
I understand what you're saying in terms of different venues being in different locations and background noise and so on.
