Well, partly.
So we have an evolutionary drive to conserve energy.
Like it would be foolish if you know how to do something just to keep changing it constantly.
Like why wouldn't you conserve energy and repeat what you've already learned to do?
So that's one part of it.
But we also have an evolutionary job to explore and to learn.
So we've got these two drives happening at the same time.
And we need to balance them.
So it's explore and exploit.
Like you want to exploit the skills you've got and do a good job, but then you've got to explore new ones.
So you've really just got to watch the balance.
And most people don't notice that there is a balance.
They just like do their jobs.
So this, again, like...
like pressure and rumination this brings awareness to people and then you should start to make some choice about the portfolio of work you're doing do you need to add more growth activities and do that consciously and deliberately and your company won't necessarily do that for you it's up to you to manage your careers you might need to sound them out look for them
Yeah, there's a few things which we discovered from these drivers which are important.
One is a lot of us take great pride in getting everything done.
Like we like to, you just said, ticking things off.
I feel good when I tick things off.
It makes me feel good.
