that's actually the most fun part for me i actually think that in august as someone who needs to pick a streamer all the time august is one of the best times of the year to stream because you get new opportunities from a lot of guys and also a lot of players go and play that other terrible sport the f word that i will not mention ever so you get more opportunities to get guys that are who are performing better and everyone's ignoring them so i think it's a fun moment i just hope that no more bullpen games

so one of the things that i try to ask every single baseball fan and um is to really just have faith in their own ability and what i mean by that is when you watch a picture on the mound just have a general sense of like okay cool he's trying to put like a fastball over here you see where the glove is he's trying to do this with a slider do this with a change up you can you can generally understand that innately and then ask yourself during a start

Do you believe that this pitcher is battling himself or the batter?

And subconsciously, you are actually picking this up all the time.

So Quinn Matthews, when I saw him in the spring of 2025, I was incredibly excited about Quinn Matthews.

Quinn Matthews was someone that was attacking his own effectively, was not allowing hard contact.

Batters were having a difficult time connecting with his fastballs.

He was moving sliders around effectively.

Etc.

And I felt, oh man, this is a guy who you can throw into the lineup right now.

He could be like a five inning, six inning guy who's efficient, all of that stuff.

Then he's gotten hurt.

He had a lower velocity.

He was down to like 92 or so.

And it's been a bit of a journey for him.

He's back to 94 now, which is very good for him.

There is a term I have called a swatch, which is a south ball with a tight change-up.
