Everyone knows that was a really difficult three months in the economy.

Kiwis have experienced that.

It's backward-looking data.

I fully expect the data will reflect what were difficult realities on the ground.

Well, I think it's important to remind the journalists who will be reporting on it on Wednesday that Treasury had already forecast it would go higher in Q2.

What they also say is from there they expect job creation to accelerate, 220,000 jobs to be created over the next four years, unemployment to come down, growth to revive.

So what we're seeing play out is likely consistent with those forecasts.
