I was in like a simple kind of nightie.
I didn't have any underwear on.
I didn't have shoes.
I didn't have my wallet or ID.
And I was dragged out of the house.
The door was slammed.
My baby daughter was inside and I couldn't get back in the house.
So I started to walk probably about two or three kilometres to the nearest police station.
And that was a big decision for me because, you know, in the community I grew up in, you didn't really go to the police about these issues.
There was a big stigma around that for me.
But what had shifted for me there was just like I was so scared that something might happen to my little girl.
So, kind of in this state, you know, just in a nightie, no shoes, black and blue, started walking a couple of kilometres to the local police station just to try and get my daughter back.
That was my real drive.
And I remember walking into...
the police station and literally you know probably six or seven kind of police running towards me and going oh my god you're bleeding and I hadn't even realized like I was concussed I was bleeding I remember kind of just like going oh my god I'm I'm bleeding
And them saying, like, we're going to call the ambulance.
And I was like, no.
I mean, I would have been their most difficult customer that day, I think, because I was kind of hysterical and just, you know, screaming and scared and just insisting that we go back to the house and get my daughter.
I was just like, my daughter, my daughter, my daughter, my daughter, please.
Like, you've got to help me get my daughter back.
