And people ask me how I remembered everything.

You know, you don't like, even at the abuse part, when I say I'm three, I'm four, I had to backtrack.

Like think about where I was, ask people what year that was, who was born what year so I could match it up.

It's hard to remember all the things I remembered.

And then I also ask other people, I know someone in every area of the book.

So when I took all of that stuff,

and had those notes.

I then had to collate them and write them down and put that in order.

And then I started to interview people and ask people because, you know, memoirs are so subjective.

I wanted to get it as close to reality as possible.

And so it's been years of research, years of talking to people.

My brother helped me so much.

He helped me with the stories in the book because family stuff is a very hot topic.

And

how do I actually get as close to the reality as possible as it's coming through the lens of Nikki, right?

But I still wanted to be like, is this real?

Is this, so my brother sat down, actually I have two brothers and both of them helped.

One, I did a little more work, you know, a lot more work than the other one.

I did that with Michael, but both brothers really validated things.

And so we did that for a while.
