I came out with more of a radical acceptance.
And it's not easy.
I'm not telling you I wake up every day and I'm ready to run through the field of flowers.
It's like I have my depression and then I have my own things that I have to face, but I'm free now.
And so the healing process of all of the steps have been important, not just the writing.
You know, it starts in Hawaii because as, you know, just a creative, you know, way of the decision, the creative decision that we made was to start and then go back to the beginning.
And it's a risk because you have to get through all the insanity and then kind of see why.
And so at the beginning, you're like, why is this person doing this?
And then, you know, you go back.
But when you get to that part, when you get to the childhood and you see...
that, you know, the wheels came off so young.
I had been through trauma so young by so many people, and then, you know, betrayed by pretty much everyone in my life, and so... I didn't have the foundation and the care to even really have a chance.
And I say that in the book later.
It's like, my life went exactly the way it was supposed to, and I've had guilt about it, and I've had shame about my life, but there was no other way it was gonna go, because I really didn't... I wasn't given a fair, solid chance as a child.
So, you know, by middle school, I was drinking and smoking and quickly went to, you know, use of drugs.
And, you know, at first it was pot and then it was psychedelics and then it was COVID-16.
I was a coke head and running to the city to get crack.
And then before I knew it, I was, you know, fresh start in Hawaii, going out for college and, you know, right away got into meth because I hadn't healed.
I didn't even know the trauma that I'd been through.
And so it started pretty young.
