Yeah, it really is montage.
It was a funny book to write because, like I said earlier, I took a long time before I actually sat down to start writing it.
And then I had a very uncanny experience with it, which I've never had with another book.
This is my eighth book, and the others have been much slower and more careful, apart from Crudeau.
But it was almost as if I tuned a radio to a frequency, like I could hear it.
But more than that, I could see it.
It was as if I was describing a film that was running before my eyes.
So much so that I didn't realize I'd written it in the present tense until somebody on a stage pointed it out.
I hadn't noticed that I was doing that.
