There's a difference between explaining and somebody saying, hey, I heard from the Petroleum Club a guy was sitting there having a rum.
I know that's the case a lot of times in the league.
And the problem is people who are not hockey people think they are because their buddy told them this and that.
And I'm not saying that's the case here.
Here's the thing that I still want to come back to.
The right hire, I think it's multiple hires.
And the CEO or president of the Toronto Maple Leafs does not have to be a hockey guy.
Maybe it's a really savvy, good businessman.
I had a smart person say this to me yesterday.
You think of the CEOs of the biggest companies in Canada or in the U.S.
Those people are running multi-billion dollar companies.
Does it have to be a hockey guy who has a grade 10 education, but he played in the NHL to be a president?
Or could it be a smart businessman who knows how to manage people, manage up and manage down?
But it's tough for him to be running six of those organizations, let alone one.
That's where I think you can have, when you have so much resources like that company does,
And, you know, I wouldn't blame the effects of that.
But would Brendan Shanahan have maybe helped this team this year?
