because of the level of experience of TMOs.
I mean, I see guys that refereed maybe 15, 20 years ago coming out of the woodwork now, and they're becoming TMOs.
And they didn't referee any higher, the equivalent, say, of the All-Ireland League Division 1.
And they might have been tried in the URC, the Magnus League, as it was called then.
And they're doing it and they're genuine guys and they're nice guys, but they don't have the experience.
And there's nothing like sitting down, you know, probably if you haven't got the requisite experience and you're doing something and it's all going really, really well.
And then something happens.
There's an internal panic.
I mean, donkeys years ago when this came in first, Brian O'Driscoll, France were beating Ireland.
And in the last minute, a guy called Brian Camsell from England, and he was the TMO, one of the earlier TMOs.
He was international ref at the time.
And he said that after O'Driscoll dived over in the corner and the question was, and he dropped it.
ball going over or not and it was one of these dreadfully tight calls and he said one minute I'm on my way down to the bar everything's going smoothly so I'm putting I'm putting my jacket back on and suddenly that happens I think it took about five minutes
to come up with the answer.
And I think Ireland got the try and the win.
But he said it was an awful moment.
He said for all the experience that he had as a ref, that was one of his worst ever moments to be put in that position.
So what will they do for the World Cup?
They're going to bring, normally they bring 12 refs.
