You don't want to be that person.
And so I think that is what a Trump world and the right knows how to leverage really well.
They know how to like
push the moral panic button that is a very familiar one from a lot of kind of the you know the countries that we come from um but i still do deeply deeply believe in like our ability to be compassionate like deeply right like it and and so and i believe in everyone's ability to do that and i think all it takes is like explaining now where it gets complicated is that it you know this very well when we migrate to this country some of the first stops end up being the churches
for a lot of people.
And if you're talking about Texas, if you go throughout the valley and the border, some of the first stops then end up being evangelical churches.
And so a lot of these kind of biases that we hold are then weaponized by politicians and some pastors that I've met that start to kind of like really exploit those biases.
And when it becomes a fight of
good versus evil, as you know.
And so, yeah, so we're kind of in that, like, perfect little storm.
But, you know, people are good.
I believe that.

And the thing is, this is perhaps the first time in decades where Cubans as a voting bloc
have felt like immigrants, right?
The Cuban and the Cuban American has always had a very specific pathway in this country.
The line from being an exile or undocumented to resident to citizenship has always been a straighter line than any other sort of Latino in this country.
it's a way more privileged experience you you it is it is more likely for cubans to kind of be untouched by the immigration system to never see ice knocking on your door until now that has completely changed now if you go to miami i mean people aren't talking about this but miami has one of the highest rates of ice arrests in the country in the country which is very silent
