Especially when there was a principal who really loved football and stuff like that.

So you kind of just... You had that bit of an edge.

But that aside, I loved it.

I absolutely loved it.

But...

Hugging them and kissing them.

But like it's, I always say the thing, like you'd meet a fella and you mightn't have played against him since you were under 16.

And he'll still remember what that game was like and what happened in that game.

And he could be full of pints and kind of, it just all comes out.

People are still living in that era, you know?

I suppose it's like that kind of situation as well, where you have the young fellas of these players who are driven to make the teams and they're all this sort of thing.

I've met fellas who have their children all at 10 years of age doing hill sprints for it and stuff like that.

So that's the other side of it, you know?

But I suppose for myself, I was heavily invested in it and I loved it so much.

I got to a stage where I was getting to, I suppose, getting very anxious around bigger games when competitions, trials for Kerry, all that sort of stuff.

And then I wouldn't play so well and I come away from that and it could be Friday, Saturday nights.

I might avoid going out with people because when you were young, we started playing.

Drinking, we were like 14, 15.

We started kind of dabbling in smoking hash, those sorts of things.

But then I suppose as I got a bit older, when these things weren't working out in the line of football and stuff like that, I started smoking a bit more, started drinking a small bit more.
