And also when a reform administration came in in Chicago, that's basically where the Capone syndicate goes.

So they moved to the near west side, continue operations as usual, wait until their favored mayoral candidates back.

You mentioned bombings, though, but yeah, I mean, that was a very popular way of trying to kind of coerce people into behaving the way they wanted.

And they would use, you know, bombings would often be used against businesses or political figures more as a warning than anything else.

So were civilians caught in the crossfire often, or that's a rarity, right?

That's a rarity by and large.

I mentioned before the Chicago Tribune journalist Jack Lingle, and when he's first killed in June of 1930, there's a huge public outrage because the initial belief is that he is one of these civilians who's gotten caught up in this violence.

But it comes out over time that he actually wasn't somebody who was just like reporting on organized crime in Chicago, but actually was associating with it.

And even, you know, he was a gambler.
