I mean, there's a reason why I really sort of
go down into the weeds, especially in the first
half of the novel.
I wanted it to be like, hey, this is what it would be like for someone to control someone with a you know, a a cell phone interface, how difficult it would be to get 'em into a car, out of a car, almost like this quotidian madness, you know, that we sort of live in.
And you can't
I don't know.
There's nothing else you can do but laugh.
And I you know, and I knew I needed that to balance off just the really bizarre
disturbing uh chapters from the point of view of of the man with the um AI implants.
Yeah, no, for sure.
I mean it that's the stuff that slows me down like so much.
And I always think back to sort of some of the lessons that I learned, maybe or just the experience of writing The Cabin at the end of the world.
Like it took me so long to write like the action scenes in that book where people were fighting and wrestling, like
when they left the cabin and wrestled, you know, over over the gun in the car and things like that just took me so long.
I'm just not comfortable with like that staging part of it.
You know, 'cause I always worry, it's like I want it to be interesting.
I I want it to be hopefully well written, you know, and fit with everything else and not just be what you know, this is what happened. 'Cause I think it it's you know too jarring otherwise.
And this book was a little bit of a different challenge was like to get granular but hopefully still be interesting.
