Things like paid family leave and using tax credits to compensate people who give care to their parents and or children can have a huge freeing effect on people.
And I think it's the right thing to do.
And it's a way to respect that that's work too.
Yeah, I've had roles and jobs where
I have worked very, very hard.
But the hardest I've ever worked in my life was when I was on parental leave, when we adopted our newborn son and daughter, our twins.
That was the only time—there they are.
Yeah, I mean, that was the only time that I was routinely getting up at 3 in the morning.
If I was lucky, I could get a nap at 5.30 in the morning.
Uh, and it was just working until I physically couldn't work anymore.
And then tapping out and then Chasten trying to, my husband trying to, you know, we'd alternate and, and, and help each other.
And that work was a beautiful work, very hard work is work.
I think we also need to invest in things like national service.
So everybody has an experience.
Military is not for everybody, but everybody should know what it's like to be part of something bigger than yourself and to work on something that is hard with people you don't already know.
I think if we have that, we'll have more trust.
