They can optimize the well-being and vitality of the body.
And the way that I see it, there's been a tremendous growth of self-care over the last quarter century.
You have more people doing yoga classes than ever before.
You have mindfulness meditation workshops, going on retreats to heal their inner child, doing all sorts of self-care.
And even in the alternative realm would only go to doctors, whether it be traditional or alternative, when they had a problem.
But I believe that chiropractors, particularly because of what we do, cannot just deal with problems in a natural, but can actually elevate the well-being and adaptability of the body to become healthier and more adaptive to the environment so that the body can actually organize and reorganize itself in higher and higher capacity.
So you can go to a chiropractor without a problem.
without a symptom, literally from the day you're born to the day you die, to optimize the body's ability to adapt to the world, that they don't have to always fix a problem or diagnose and treat a condition, but you can optimize the well-being of the body by caring for the spine and offering tools to maximize the well-being of a person's body.
So that's what I want to prepare my students for, not just as being
an alternative to traditional forms of treatments or a natural modality to offer a treatment for conditions, but to optimize well-being of the body by removing interferences or obstructions from the body to allow it to adapt to the world optimally.
Most people start going to a chiropractor because something happened, right?
any problem, something's happened, and they wind up going to the chiropractor either because they feel as though that's the best person to take care of it, or they tried something in a more traditional way that didn't resolve it, and they wind up going to a chiropractor.
Most chiropractors today, aside from impacting that problem, educate their patients on the benefit of caring for the spine.
To fully answer your question for your audience, let's explain what a chiropractor does.
And part of that is philosophical, some of it is physiological, right?
The fundamental philosophy of chiropractic sits in this place that recognizes the human body by its design was designed to work right.
It was designed by our creator, however you see that, by life, to be able to live in this world and make all the necessary chemicals and drugs that that body should ever need.
It is designed for success.
It's designed to live in this world and adapt to the world optimally.
And the thing that controls all of that is the nervous system.
