It's sad, but that's the reality of it.
And this Dublin team need to look within and not let the energy seep out and say to each other, look,
what do we want to do in our time that we have this Dublin jersey you know and if it's winning an All-Ireland right well then you know it mightn't happen now but we need to really go after what it's going to take us to get there because we've enough experience to have done it in the changing room to get to that stage and they've a brilliant management team as well
Yeah, it's hard because... You can't force someone to play, obviously, but... Yeah, it's objective, isn't it?
Like, you know, for somebody like, I'd say the lads that I played with, a lot of them, including me, would say we played probably a year too long.
You know, we could have left a year before, maybe two years before we did.
But we always wanted to pass on that good culture that even when you're at the end, this is how you should behave.
This is the way you should be.
I suppose my second last year, strangely enough, I had a good buzz about me and a good energy about me.
Last year, I was a bit more negative.
Because you weren't playing?
I wasn't playing, but there was times where I felt I could have been, I could have made a bigger impact.
And that's just me.
That's just my ego.
And there was times even where I felt, Jesus, I could be pushed into that A team just to put the other lads under pressure.
That's all.
I'm not even looking for game time.
Just put me in the A's today for 10 minutes so that the fella that you're changing me with thinks I have to up my game here.
There was none of that.
Now, Jim Gavin would have done a lot of that.
