And then you look at the opposition kick-out for Galway getting after Dublin, it was only 22%.
So kick-outs was the key.
So you're not getting the shots off if you don't have the ball, like.
Well, that was the one concern I had about Galway all year, was their defensive structure.
That's why I didn't, there was a lot of people tipping them for the All-Ireland and I was kind of thinking they'd be caught out defensively there.
But that is blatantly obvious, like that you don't leave Conn one-on-one inside.
I always tell a story about John Smallmark and Con in DCU and Dec Darcy was doing this drill where he just said, we're going to do this kind of kick in.
The whole team was standing there watching these two lads one on one.
Nobody else there on the other half of the pitch.
and he kicks it in, and, Con gets the ball, turns and scores, and John comes to me after, and he says, how do I mark this fella?
I said, you literally got to charge him, at that moment, you pull him down, you push him away from the goal, and you wait till the support comes, and,
And, you know, I just looked at the first couple of balls that went in, I was like, where are we changing this here?
Like, why is there not either, you can't be caught in between either more pressure on the ball going in or a sweeper coming in from the blind side.
Because that's the way Con is, he can win the ball high, low, left or right.
That's why he's so hard to mark.
And when he gets the ball, he just needs that small bit of space.
And you don't know whether to stand in front of him or commit with your body in the way.
Or if you do commit, he's going to go by you.
And, you know, if he just got the head down a little bit more and took an extra couple of steps by his man, he could have got a couple of goal chances.
