But the texture of the tropics under dictatorships was the same.
You know, the iron grill work was the same.
The fashion was similar.
So film can be transporting in ways that art just cannot sometimes, you know.
I walk.
So I walk from my flat to my studio, which is about a 25-minute walk along the Thames.
Not the nicest bit of the Thames, but I think there's something about that walk where I can kind of clear my head or just think through things.
That's been really helpful.
I try to do it every day or as often as I go to the studio.
And that's really, that's important.
Yeah, and I think that's it.
And you get to compose emails.
Even the mundane aspects of running a studio get kind of dealt with.
I think often, like with my work in particular, there's a certain nirvana where...
where it just becomes really mechanical.
But then the ebb and flow of ideas kind of insert.
And often that happens exactly when you're not in production or just when you're just about to go into production.
been thinking about this and it's it's really tough but I think I would go with one of my aunt's late paintings she did the series called Endless Blues towards the end of her life when she was already quite ill with cancer and so she couldn't really do all of these kind of heavily quilted heavily embellished works and she was just in her studio between bouts of treatment and
listening to blues and painting.
I mean, there are still bits of batik in it, but they're a lot less textured.
