Indigenous cultures, when we're talking about Native Americans and global Indigenous groups, there are a lot of roles and like ceremonies that were like led by women.
And of course, the big one, witches and healers, predominantly like we would probably know them from like European sort of backgrounds.
Where they would basically have ties to the earth and to supernatural and then, you know, be potentially accused of evil witchcraft and spiritual stuff like that.
So across the cultures, we know that there are a lot of different types.
But I think one thing that kind of binds women together, if we're looking at like women's spirituality, is the fact that women...
have always been involved in bodies and women's work in quotations.
healing, right?
Yes, but also for people in their community.
So women were like predominantly in ancient times, and obviously kind of even still now, things like childbirth, like menstruation, sex.
um plants and food like that's women's work to go out and do that stuff especially if we're thinking you know in non-modern times we were often also involved in like understanding illness and death so all of this knowledge it existed like outside of like you know formal education like women in these communities would be like learning these things and teaching each other and raising villages
and making sure that people survived compared to men, like because of capitalism and the way that the world works, like in the patriarchy, men could potentially go and get a formal education to learn these things like medicine and such.
Whereas like women were like, you know, passed down generational knowledge and just like practical use in like local communities.
And so they would be like wise women and then maybe accused as witches.

Exactly.
And something that like someone said to us when we were talking about this episode, one of our friends who is very like super witchy, like...
witchy down.
She was like, what is more of a spiritual experience than a woman literally pushing out consciousness, pushing out a life, creating a soul.
And that in itself for a lot of people listening, whether you are a little bit of a skeptic like me, or if you are very like spiritual and emotional like that, like we can all agree, like that's pretty fricking special.
