If contempt is there, that is a bad sign as well.
Like you have to work hard to come over that.
And I think respect, trying to bring respect into who the person is, what they're experiencing, trying to change your own mindset.
If you're feeling contempt towards your partner, it's really important.
But yeah, third horse, man.
Defensiveness.
So like if you're in a situation where you're extremely defensive and like, you know, your communication style, how you communicate with each other can cause defensiveness.
So like that, obviously that criticism leads into defensiveness.
Yeah, but like, well... One might say.
So there's a really important thing there because that does happen a lot in relationships.
But if you're defensive all the time, you have this idea that you're perfect and you're never doing anything wrong.
And that's a flawed assumption because we all make mistakes at the end of the day.
And the best types of marriages are ones where we might be defensive and then we quickly come down and say, actually, you know what?
I'm wrong here.
I really apologise for that.
But defensiveness, if it's continual and it's always there with one person or two, it's corrosive.
This is the worst one.
It's stonewalling.
It's just not allowing conversation at all.
I mean, in my own marriage, you know, one of the biggest issues that we have, we've had a couple of big issues.
