you're trying to measure the bacteria in the donor fecal material, you're much better off finding what the bacteria are, identify them and put them in instead.
Or even more importantly, what are they doing?
If you could figure out what these bacteria are making.
to activate the immune response against the tumour in combination with the immunotherapy, that'll be a drug that'll be much more effective and more reproducible.
So it's just the beginning of this really.
It's going in that direction.
Very difficult to do, of course.
And there's been all kinds of problems trying to identify what the factors are because they're probably likely very complex.
So we may end up with live bacteria
in the mix here with the immunotherapy, you never know, and that might be the way to go with this.
But you can see the excitement this is causing.
And the other thing you might do, though, and one of these three papers, there was a great summary of them, eat fibre.
A good diet will get the right bugs to grow in your gut.
Now, we know fibre is good for us anyway.
It turns out one reason fibre is good for us is it gets the right bacteria to dominate in your gut.
And what is fibre?
Well, it's vegetables, really, you know.
Lots of things have fibre in them, you know, grains and potatoes and
you know, cruciferous vegetables are very rich in fibre.
They will change the microbiome, we know that already.
