It's a big commitment.

If you look at the flip side of what you're proposing, you'd have a debt-free home with $250,000 in the bank.

You can keep investing.

You can keep doing things.

You've got a lot of choices being mortgage-free with a lot of cash.

It doesn't mean you have to stop investing.

I think if that works for you, go for it.

See, I think they're saying Armidale because they've got the investment property there.

And that's why I said, does it need to be Armidale?

Because you can cash in and go to any sort of country place if that's your goal.

It doesn't have to be where your investment property is.

But I think I understand with two small children and your incomes and having a mortgage of that size, why you feel the pinch.

And you can't, there's no option to drop income or drop hours when you've got that kind of mortgage and two small children.

If it was a 30-year term, it would be about $7,900 a month.

However, if they're 10 years in and there's a 20-year term, it's more like $9,500 a month.

And if Armadale's where you want to live because of other reasons, absolutely.

But I wouldn't go there just because that is where my investment property is.
