And then the wild card is obviously credit quality, which is how many of the loans go bad.
And we've been at historically low levels for years at this point.
And one thing that investors are worried about is maybe that's going to come to an end.
Yeah, definitely.
And there are a few reasons for that.
One is simply M&A.
There actually have been a lot of deals that have been going on in this part of the market.
You know, smaller banks that don't really have national name recognition, they have been buying each other.
And a lot of those deals have been for a premium.
So investors think that those stocks should trade at a higher valuation because there's a good chance that
they might be sold to someone for even more money in a few months.

And what's happened is that their commercial loan growth has really declined in the last few years. matched

Some of it might be tied to tighter regulations. matched

But the fact of the matter is banks need to make these loans to grow and to make their profit projections. matched
They're becoming a little bit more aggressive in their easing terms, and that's something that regulators are a little bit concerned about. matched
