And we're seeing that in markets around the world.
When the costs come down and the model availability across different types of vehicles is there, consumers in large part always go for the electric vehicle.
Yeah, no, that is not true at all.
It's costing consumers billions, billions of dollars.
Yes, it is true that today in the United States, an electric vehicle costs, in most models, costs more than a comparable internal combustion engine.
But that is set to change in a few years.
This regulation might slow that down.
It may take a little bit longer now.
But it's happening.
And even so, they still cost way less to own and operate.
So when you just look at the added, a little bit added extra cost of the vehicle, that's a very small piece of the puzzle.
You have to look at the whole cost of owning the vehicle and operating the vehicle and fueling the vehicle and all of that.
And in that case, it's not going to save manufacturers any money.
California is a leader.
If you look at everything that they've done to support sort of an ecosystem of electric vehicles, they have
much higher sales of electric vehicles than any other state.
Well, not any other state, but pretty much almost any other state, especially much higher than the average in the United States.
And that is because of all the supportive policies they put in place.
Now, you're right.
Under the Clean Air Act, California is able to make its own vehicle regulations.
