So we should pick up on something that was mentioned there.

Sprague had mentioned that Lindsay previously denied thoughts of harming her children when questioned by medical professionals.

Now the prosecution has mentioned this regularly in the trial.

But throughout his testimony, Dr.

Resnick stated that this was common.

He says it's common that mothers don't report all of their mental health symptoms as they are fearful that their children might be taken away from them.

doctor Resnick also testified that he diagnosed Lindsay Clancy with bipolar two disorder.

With severe depression.

As well as suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time of killing her children.

He also testified that she falls into two types of philosopide.

So that testimony about the types of philosophy that he believes Lindsay Cancy had at the time, altruistic philosophy and acutely psychotic philosophy.

is important because that goes towards the motivations behind what happened that awful day.

And that's also important because of testimony that we later hear, which we'll come on to later, from the state's expert witnesses and the dueling narratives that they gave about that.

So Dr.

Resnick was really, you know, a key witness to the defense's case, laying out the exact insanity defense, which, you know, is at the very heart of the trial.

So the state then began its rebuttal case.

And because this is a case where the defense is citing an insanity defense, the way this works is that the state's initial case was about proving the alleged murders.

Then the defense goes to show insanity, and now the rebuttal case is the state pushing back on specifically the insanity defense.

So this is where we're hearing their expert witnesses who are countering the defense's expert witnesses and saying, no, she did not have psychosis at the time, and yes, she can be held criminally responsible.

So this is the point where we're really getting the battle of the experts.
