She described discussing despair and suicidal thoughts with Lindsay, but noted she didn't have a specific plan and therefore was not considered an immediate danger.
That's something that Lindsay found when she actually called the hotline.
So she called the hotline twice.
And was told because she didn't have a specific suicide plan.
She was effectively turned away.
She was also turned away from a different medical provider when she sought help as well.
When she tried to admit herself to W the women's and infants program.
in Rhode Island.
And that time she was turned away because, as we heard from the defense, she was over medicated.
So they said that she wasn't eligible for that treatment there.
So a lot of different things going on with Lindsay's various mental health treatment.
To the prosecution, though, all of these assessments of various practitioners suggest that Lindsay was not experiencing psychosis and therefore is criminally responsible for the deaths of her children.
But the backbone of the defence has become the question why weren't these medical practitioners communicating with each other?
And did any of them have the full medical picture when examining Lindsay?
We've heard that they didn't, you know, share notes on her medical records, that they didn't communicate with one another.
even though they were aware that there was other treatment going on, that she was admitting herself to the ER.
So this is where it really puts a spotlight on the way things are running within the healthcare system as a whole.
Some of the other things that we've seen during the testimony from the medical providers as well is we saw some of the private messages that Lindsay was sending to one of her medical providers, nurse Julie Paul.
She was sending messages through my chart saying things like
I feel like I'm going to die and I don't care.
