You know, do they want to get to their granddaughter's graduation?
You know, and have a place where everyone
Everyone, including nurses, social workers, chaplains, everyone could document in one place.
Um and it also included, you know, uh healthcare proxy, code status, those kinds of things as well.
So so in oncology it actually works quite well.
The hazard ratio is about ten.
And we actually have a paper coming out in general journal or JGIM about the s use of the two year surprise question in um primary care patients.
And it actually worked a lot better there.

But one year surprise question in oncology is not too bad.
And the other piece, the other piece of the surprise question, which I think is uh shouldn't be missed by this audience, is it's activating.
So it it generates buy-in for clinicians.
So if they say, I wouldn't be surprised if this patient dies in the next year, and Joe or I send them an email and say, You're in our trial, have a conversation, they've already bought into the notion that
there's something going on and that they should have a conversation.
So that that piece um is really important, that buy in piece from the clinician, that they had some
Um
part in identifying who needed to have it.
Great question.
So so um we were able to show that we had more, better and earlier conversations in the intervention group.
Um and that those patients that had conversations had decreased anxiety and depression and that decreased anxiety persisted.
