So very few people understand the behind the scenes of nonprofit finances unless you have run a nonprofit before.

Grant funding is really complex, mostly because you have to

Project into the future what you're going to need, probably a year or two in advance, then apply for something and say, hey, this is what we need, this is how we're going to spend it.

And then most grants, and I'm not exactly sure why, but they want to pay for the service to the end user.

So they want to be able to say our funding served, you know, a thousand people that that received therapy, and they want to pay for the action that serves the client.

So like that's our service delivery end of things.

Anyone who's run a business before knows that service delivery always needs to

Be supported by backhand support.

There's overhead, there's rent, there's insurance, there's you know administrative support, all of those things.

And those aren't like the attractive, sexy things for grant funders to pay for.

So as we've expanded, we've we've continued to be successful getting grants for service delivery for the most part, but this size of the organization has in in

increased quite rapidly.

Uh, we've actually

Increased our service delivery by 6.5 times within the last five years.

So that's a pretty significant growth rate for most organizations.

And our our admin support and like our back-end systems have we haven't found funding to increase those at the same rate or keep pace.

So, for example, we don't have a fund development team.

We don't have people who are like, you know, doing fundraising campaigns.

Campaigns for us because we can't afford to pay people for those positions because it's not service delivery.

So that's pretty challenging.
