She had become her own woman.
And that's kind of the things that I saw happen in my studio where I didn't have to say anything.
I, a lot of times I was the surrogate mom and the mentor or whatever, but I, the dance did it for them.
So I look at,
I look at Middle Eastern dancing or any type of art form that teaches anybody anything, I look at it as a mother or a father.
Because the ancient art of belly dancing is this mystical mother that will eventually get to her babies and show them the way, but in the way that they will listen and follow.
And that's, to me, what was the most beautiful aspect of this dance form is that these girls learned these lessons in ways I could never tell them.
I couldn't explain it to them.
But they figured it out on their own as they learned to dance.
And that's the beautiful part about this art form is the fact that as you get better, you get more confident.
And then when you get more confident, you start seeing yourself
in this amazing way.
And what you would accept a year before, you would never accept at that point in your life.
So it's a learning and growing type of dance form that as you get better, your life gets better.
