But even that much more, you know, he's been a captain at every single level he's played at.

And he's brought offensive pop, he's you know, played two games, he's got three points uh in the last uh in in the preseason and

Just overall, his influence and practice, you notice it more.

Last year it felt like, you know, this was a player that was kind of easing his way in.

Maybe he didn't he didn't look the role because he's so young.

This year he just looks that much more comfortable.

Uh and he is developing some chemistry with R C Baines, uh, who's uh the twenty five year old who plays on the Abbotsford Canucks.

Uh both of those guys are competing for roster spots, but you know, those first couple of games, it was tough matchups.

Uh Coots was playing the center position, but he was going against, you know, Calgary's top guys in the last game.

And and don't get me wrong, Vancouver did not have a good time in that game, but Manny Mohaut Houtra is is very comfortable of throwing this young kid in a situation where, you know, let's see how he does.

Uh tonight against the Oilers, he's in a very different situation playing with Paul Cotter and Brendan Gallagher.

It'll be further down the lineup.

So uh another test for him to see how he does.

But so far Brayden Coots has done an excellent job and you know anything the coach throws at him, uh he's competing hard and that's the real key for Manny, uh coach Manny Mohothar up that he wants to see his guys battle, he wants to see them, you know, compete because you're gonna have to do that all season long for this team.

the update there?

Yeah, with Thatcher, he was at training camp.

He was skating, especially in the first day, um, you know, solo and he's involved.

He's in around the team, but as of right now, there is no timeline with him.

Uh this is uh a guy that's no, you know, I'm not breaking the news here in terms of he's battled injuries over the last few years now.

They want to make sure that he when he does get back, he's, you know, good to go.
