Now, I will say
That was a moment that spurred a lot of action at the local and state level.
We have seen volunteers and Moms Demand and other organizations successfully pass legislation at the state level, but unfortunately,
We've not yet seen the kind of meaningful progress at the federal level that the public health crisis of gun violence demands.
We saw a good step forward under the Biden administration when Congress did pass the first gun safety legislation in three decades, but not the kind of assault weapons ban, permit to purchase, high-capacity magazine ban, universal background checks that the crisis demands of the American people's support.
You know, no one is...
No one is diminishing the importance for people of prayer.

A terrorist attack.
Why on earth in those instances do people recognize that prayer and action is necessary?
But when it comes to gun violence, prayer is the only thing that occurs.

And they're in the pocket.
They're in the pocket of the NRA.

It was a reason why I ran for the state Senate in 2019 in Delaware.
